The 77th Session of the UN General Assembly this March highlights the importance of social entrepreneurship.

In March 2023, the United Nations General Assembly will hold its 77th session under the theme “Solutions through Solidarity, Sustainability and Science”. The Assembly recognizes the importance of promoting the social and solidarity economy for sustainable development and highlights the role of social entrepreneurship, including cooperatives and social enterprises, in poverty alleviation and social transformation. In addition, the Assembly emphasizes the contributions of the social and solidarity economy to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of employment, social services, gender equality, access to finance and local economic development. The theme of the 77th session aligns with O Trade’s vision and mission: as a social enterprise, our goal is to work with clients to integrate communities into industrial activities by tackling socio-economic challenges through the development of innovative socio-economic solutions.
